Video 2: Baby in Ultrasound

The Graphic Score has the shape of a baby in Ultrasound. There are many different playing techniques., which are the same for all instruments, but are played differently for each one. For example, the cross note ( x ) means “keycklicks” for the flute, but “knocking on soundboard” for the harp.  

This work was inspired by the Greek photographer Kostas Stephanakis, whose album depicted women as the reminders of life. The fetus in ultrasound is 18 weeks old and expresses the responsibility of both parents for the child’s life before birth.                        

The graphic score is divided into small pieces, creating the form of a puzzle. These pieces of the puzzle are shown one by one on Video 1 until the complete form of the fetus appears.
